While it has some age spotting, particularly on the back of the head, these spots will become less noticeable as the piece naturally darkens over time. The coins stay securely inside, thanks to the original plastic plug, which still fits snugly as intended.
This item is from the mid-1900s and is truly built to last. It is not lacquered so it has “living” finish, meaning it will continue to darken and develop character as it ages. Polishing it will reset the aging process, giving it a shiny and bright finish, but wiping it down with only a damp cloth and lightly drying it typically will not affect its natural patina.
